The Adam and Dr. Drew Show

Adam and Dr. Drew started the show commenting on southern California's recent unprecedented weather where everyone not only experienced a hurricane, but also an earthquake - 'Hurriquake' - on the same day. With that they debate on the growing distrust in how the news reports events, including weather. Please Support Our Sponsors: BlindsGalore.com FastGrowingTrees.com/ADS

Drink to your confession and hear what you have to say about anything, Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Kaitlyn. Welcome to Grape Therapy. I'm your host, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and your session is about to start. I'm excited for everyone to hear this episode because Britt and Emma and I'm not playing favorites, but we're very similar and we bond over the same things and we're sharing the bus together. So it was so nice to just have a conversation with them. I think they're two incredible people who have a lot to say, and I feel like you're going to listen to this episode and just actually feel a little inspired and happy, and you'll relate to a lot of things that they see, I think. And so it's amazing just to fill everybody in on some things. I think I I mean, I think I shared it on social media that I was having a bit of a rough go. The bus life is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Only sleep wise. I love hanging out with everybody in the little living room area, watching funny YouTube clips and laughing and eating and having wine or tea or whatever we're doing. It's the sleeping that's really affecting me. It's a lot harder to sleep on this bus than I thought it would be because I have the back room with a bed and I thought, like, Oh, how cozy. But it's actually giving me quite terrible sleeps and anxiety. And so I think it's affecting my mood every day. But I'm obviously so grateful for what I'm doing and when I'm on stage, I'm so happy and when I'm hanging out with the dancers, I'm so happy, but I go to a dark place of the night, so that's my little update on how I'm feeling. Somebody wanted to know, and a lot of people have actually asked me how I'm dealing with being away from Jason and the dogs. And the truth of that is I'm not doing well with it. I'm really I'm really not. I went to target the other day and I got a couple of frames and I want to print out a photo of Jason and the dogs to put in the frame. And I can't even bring myself, Oh my god, I could cry right now. Actually try not to, but. I can't even really look at photos without crying and being really feeling really lonely, and I mean, you'd think I'd be used to this from like going to film Bachelorette for a couple of months at a time. But I've just I think this time around really, you know, being awake through the night and just missing them, and it's been really hard to be away from them this time specifically. And I'm having a really hard time with it. I've tried to put things into perspective, of course, and just be like, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. And like for those of you who are listening and if we're coming to a city near you, please come. It is so fun. The show is incredible, and it's really what can get me through this whole two months of being gone is the fact that being on stage every night is an absolute dream come true, and the crowd is incredible and the performance is incredible. And I'm surrounded by so much talent that it's really rewarding. It's really just the lonely nights that are getting to me, and I miss Jason and the dogs so much. Jason was just here, came to a show. I'm so sorry for any of the Bills fans out there listening. My gosh, that was heartbreaking, and I just felt everybody's pain through Jason. I think Jason carried enough of the pain for everybody and all the bills. Oh, it was so rough. But again, sorry about the loss. Thoughts and prayers to as opposed to the bills community because I really thought you all had it in the bag there. Anyways, I also appear on The Bachelor this week. It was kind of a heavy conversation about about body image. Hunter mentioned that changing her appearance for her past boyfriend, Sareen mentioned how she was bullied about being skinny. And it's just like, you know, it just goes to show that. You know, we see these people on a show like The Bachelor, and obviously The Bachelor has grown in ways but has a ways to go with, you know, the shapes and sizes that we see on the show as well. But it just goes to show that no matter what size you are, you can feel insecure in your own body. You can get bullied for your size, no matter what. You can get bullied for your appearance by people like someone you're dating, and I just really want to show my support for these women who did come forward on such a huge show to talk about these insecurities and probably got bullied for it online. And I just want everybody to have some compassion for everyone who opened up, especially Clinton as well about their own insecurities. And I thought it was know I love when they do this beautiful date where they have this circle of people coming together. And, you know, I think it's a really vulnerable moment that creates that connection for everybody and just thought we could put it out there to be kind to everyone that shared their feelings in that episode. But anyways, a lot of people also wanted to know how I'm navigating being busy with wedding planning. And Jason tweeted about our wedding being quote unquote announced. But fact check on that. I mean, we're slowly but surely doing it. I think Jason and I should do an episode soon on maybe an update for that. So I think that would be nice. It's just a little reminder to our listeners before we get into this podcast with Emma and Bret about the OTB hotline off the Vine hotline, the phone number for that is just going to say get a pen and paper. How old school is all of your notes? Put it in your phone. Write it down on paper or whatever. Four three four six nine six vinyl or that's four three four six nine six eight four six six. So I want to hear confessions prank call ideas for your friends, significant others. Family questions you have for me about anything, even ideas for what you want to hear on group therapy. I want to hear from you. But I look forward to doing those episodes and I'm really looking forward to you, just having us in your ear holes and bring them up to high. The two of you? Hi, Kaitlyn. So you could just both introduce yourselves so that people, I mean, obviously people are going to know when Emma's talking because you have the most lovely voice and accent, but just do a little intro like who you are and what we're doing. I'm Emma Slater. I'm a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars. I'm a friend of Kaitlyn's, which I'm really proud about. We're currently on the Dancing With the Stars tour on the road. We're in Columbus, Ohio. Been here before. This is my ninth tour and I believe it. I can't even count how many seasons I've done at the show, but I'm very lucky to be here and I'm a British national but proud American now. December last year. Yeah. Hey, you guys, I'm Britt Stewart. I'm a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars as well. Like Emma said, we are here on the live tour friend of Kaitlyn Proud Fred. You can't let go. Let's see. This is my second season of being a pro. I dance with the stars, even though I started in 2016 on True, and I believe this is my third tour. Really, that surprises me because it feels like you've been here forever. Yeah, it does, actually. Yeah, yeah, it's only your third tour. It's only my third tour. Strange to me. Yeah. Oh my French. So I mean knew from being on tour in the past, like, do you guys all get along with everybody or do you have to take separate buses because of like because I can't live with the person, they're messy. No, we hate each other. So I think everyone gets along so well. You know everybody does. Of course, everybody is different. Like I remember a few seasons ago realizing, Oh, this person's pretty messy. Yeah, and she probably is now. In fact, I know she is now, but this is one person I was like. Sharing with us is how I realized, Oh, she's really messy or sharing a bus with like blood, for instance. You know, he's going to get up really early. Sasha is going to get up really early and he's going to go find coffee and we have a little coffee group, which we actually haven't started the season this tour yet. But we we're still kind of early into it, but everybody gets along. We all know what we have for breakfast. We all know what time we go to Vegas like family. I mean to is it is, you know, you know, someone's going to cheat at cards like, you know, the boys are going to go gambling, you know, the girls are going to watch a rom com. Yeah, awesome. Like funny things on the TV, it's just really great. I love this environment so much. I definitely flourish in this kind of like family vibe. Oh yeah, me too. And I mean, I've toured before Dancing with the Stars. And so but this definitely has a family feel like when you're on the road with people for as long as we are, you just, I mean, we live with each other. So you just know that's one thing that's actually really surprised me about doing this tour is just like how naturally. Friendly, yeah, like it, like it's just been so pleasant, and I feel like it just I'm not like tiptoeing around or like ever just feels like family and friends and you're like, Oh, we can have wine one night or, you know, tomorrow I'm going to go to bed early or are like, You guys want to watch this? We all laugh together and eat together. And like, I truly am a person who like, thrives on my solo time. But I find myself really wanting to be out with everyone and laughing and enjoying this experience with everyone because everyone's so lovely. Yeah, honestly, I'm the same. Yeah, because I love to be alone, but when I'm with you guys, I get FOMO. Yeah, I don't. If I don't spend time with you because I love, I just love you guys so much. But Kaitlyn, I also have to say that you fit in with our family so quickly. And they were saying like, we're going to keep her around for a long time. We feel like we've known over the years I feel the same way. Just been here like a puzzle piece. I feel the same way. And I don't know if it's like from growing up dancing. I have this like nostalgic feeling of being with other dancers that it feels like comforting to me. But I just I was telling Jason this. I'm like, I love hanging around other dancers because everyone just like has this incredible like heart and personality and like way of thinking and everyone's creative and everyone's just like, I don't know, like, I just feel like, Oh, it feels like when I was growing up around other dancers, it feels like family. And I always think this way about like athletes, like on sports teams like they all just have the same kind of upbringing and like life style. And they were always gone for weekends with hockey tournaments and dancers were kind of the same way with obviously do hockey because I'm Canadian. But like dancers are the same way with competitions going away on weekends and like you, just like, I don't know, will sync up on our periods that we have the same hormones. My boobs are killing me right now, and I'm like, This isn't even my diet. Yeah. Kaitlyn and I looked at each other yesterday. We're like, We feel that. Yeah, like, it's good the last few days. We'll just like to be in the dressing room like getting ready, doing makeup and then like something stupid will happen. And we'll just look at each other and be like, Are we OK now? Let's see you yesterday and you spaced out and I was going to capture on camera and be like, This is pretty funny. This episode of Group Therapy is brought to you by progressive. So interesting this lifestyle of the bus tour and doing the state like it's like Groundhog Day, but not because it's also fun, but like highs and lows. Like I was saying hormones and everything with the like three days ago, I can't even remember now what city we're in or what day it is. But a few days ago I was feeling really, really low. And then you get on stage and you feel really, really high. Yeah, and it's just like, I feel comfortable enough to like, tell you both what I'm feeling when I'm in my lows and enjoy the highs. But is that always like, is that just something that you do as dancers like you just you're like, let's just be open and honest with each other because we have to live together on a bus. We have to spend our days together. You have to work together to eat, sleep, breathe, work, everything. Do you just like? Just go into it being like, this is we have to be transparent with each other, and that's how we're going to bond over this. I don't even think it's a conscious decision. I just think that dancers have a sort of less boundaries and other people because we're used to being so readily available in terms of like emotions and creative. And we live in our fields. And I'm definitely a really bad culprit of that. And I'm glad she tried to live ness in what feels because I don't want to be on a roller coaster all the time. That's what I feel like I'm on. But dancers in general, you get it. You know, one minute you're at one you. But I feel dancers in general. We our hearts are so open and we see things slightly differently. And I'm I'm really kind of proud of that. It's not. It's not the norm we readily accepting of other people. And I think that's a quality a lot of people have put in dancers. We seem to just be around creative people so much that we kind of understand everybody else's process and will allow it to happen and not try to step on that. Yeah. And so if someone comes in and they really like, you know, peed off, we going to respect that and we're going to like, give them what we feel like they need in order to in order to like, serve them type thing. No way to say no, not at all. I think also in a tour environment, it's helpful to have that sort of transparency because we spend so much time with each other. I think it's just, you know, it's nice to say, Oh, this is me today. And so then everyone can respect that and be on the same page with you because you know, you're going to see everyone's highs and lows so much more like a microscope than you would in regular life. Yeah. And I also feel like to Caleb, I don't know how many times we can say this on this podcast today, but we naturally have this and I this connection with you. And so I feel like that's also why you feel open to be transparent with us. I particularly I agree. You could sit with us doing that. I feel like it is. It's like this. Like almost like sisterhood, where I don't know. Once you give each other permission to be themselves and to be honest and open with how you're feeling, it's like we just set that boundary and and that foundation from the get go and like we, I like when people can ask, What do you need like? Mm-Hmm. And then you can honestly tell them, you know, like if anyone needs space, respect if you want to hang out and talk. And like, I had a chat with Alexis last night, talked to in the morning about like deep s**t. And I'm like, That's what do you need like? I think that's just so nice that we can all do that. And I will say, I can't do that with everybody, right? Not everybody. Not everybody takes on your wavelength. It actually took me forever to understand what like, you know, when you say I'm vibing with someone, that vibe is like the wavelengths, like if they're on the same vibration. And it took me forever. And I'm like, Oh, wow, I didn't actually know that vibe environment. Same vibration. Yeah. And I feel like now I understand that so much more. And it allows me like you to be able to be like, you know, I'm not okay, but it's okay that I'm not okay. Yeah. And the other people see it is that it's just like, you know, getting upset by yourself in the corner, not allowing people to see it. And then just like putting on a brave face how exhausting it is and you already have to, as a dancer, be on when you're on stage, you know you're performing and you're entertaining and you're on and you love to do it. So it's easy to do. You just turn on, but sometimes you have to be able to say, I need to turn it off and everyone has to be OK with it. And I feel that sometimes I don't want to turn off. So I'm like, Oh, I want to be fun and have fun and like, entertain people always. I want to be the Kaitlyn that people be like. Like you exactly the way you are. Yeah, no. Well, and that's I've just I mean, this podcast, everyone that listens now is like, I will sometimes like, cry on it or I'll be talking about depression or anxiety. And then sometimes I'm like this freaking happy right now. Like, you know, that's the beautiful thing about podcasting, which I know you two are thinking about starting a podcast. But I think you two would just be great at a podcast because you you do have that bond together that you're able to talk so naturally and be vulnerable and have a natural chemistry and connection that would really like come across on a podcast where people would feel like they're just hanging out with you, which I think is such a nice thing about podcasts. If people just feel like they're hanging out with you, like having a conversation that you're in their ears while they're like either driving or working out or cleaning the house or whatever you're doing and you're like, you just feel like you're hanging out with friends, and I feel like you to do a really good job at podcast. Oh, great. Yeah, especially in the Dancing With the Stars, where people always were no behind the scenes of Dancing With the Stars. And like, you know, we just see little snippets of what happens in the studio and then the live performance. Yeah, little snippets and then the live performance. But there's so much more that goes on in that show, either personally or like in the relationship of the two dance partners or outside of like you guys as friends that people would want to know. I think do really well. There is a lot that goes into it. And when we see the packages before we dance and it's like maybe two minute long or less little snippet of what the week has been like, it is like a fraction of what happens and doesn't give it justice. It also like, you know this, you spend hours on a Cuban break. Remember the other day and I was like, Oh, it's this one. That's right. You probably spent hours on that step at a time in that four hour, and people don't understand that, but it's in. It's intriguing to me to see that learning process because you probably had a million questions about this two second step. Oh my gosh, the rumba walks Ringo. Why don't they just want to say room bothers me because my back doesn't care about what I rumba? The rumba walks like Artem made me do that for like an hour, and I was like, OK, got it, because I'm glad he did. That's the school of training for us. That's what you start with is the rubber walks, you know, like ballet is like, Well, you can talk more about this. Yeah, with ballet, it's like a bar. You start with your plate or tattoos and your deck chairs, and that's what a rumba walk is. It is the foundation of your technique. So that's why he was. Oh, good teacher. Good. Yes, a really good teacher. One of my teachers used to say a walk is a walk is a walk. And also, what are you? What are you saying? What is the. But what she meant is if you if you perfect the walk, you're going to find it like ironically, you're going to find it in the jive, you're going to find it in the cha cha. You're going to look when she had a walk, walk is a walk is a walk. I get it and you could dance. Yeah, I get it now. Oh, that's amazing. We have so many questions from listeners. They were so excited that you two are going to be on the podcast. So they're called the videos the hey, now I knows we are also, I know that's a remember somebody came in the VIP line and they're like, We're by and we all did it. Yes. Love it. They're so cute. OK, so Holly Salsa is her name. What inspired you both to become dancers? Go. OK. Well, I started when I was three years old, so dance is my life aspire in the world. I was inspired in the womb. And honestly, my parents tell me that I was really inspired by music. Like when I would cry or when I would do anything. Music was always what got me out of that, and I would always move to music. So that's why they put me into dance. And then as I was training and went on, I actually went to be a doctor when I was little. No. And yeah, and then just dance took over my life. And then I don't know if a lot of people noticed, but I started working when I was 15. And so then it just became this Oh, I have to do this like the door is opening. And then of course, I became obsessed with it. And here we are now. They were supposed to be, you're exactly where you're supposed to be. I remember watching a demonstration and it was of this Passato black couple. It's one of the dances that we do in ballroom. And she dropped into splits at this particular point in the music, and I was 10 years old, mesmerized and she looked beautiful and I was like, That is what I want to do. So I begged my parents Can, can I do this? And at the time, I remember it was five pounds for a lesson on a weeknight. Oh, sorry, on a weekend sort of night. Yeah. And I started doing it, and then I begged them, I want to do more. I want to compete. And they were thinking, Gosh, this is a lot of money. Like, we going get it because honestly, it starts turning into like all 25 a night and then, you know, and then 50 plus years and then petrol to drive around. So Gascoigne's gas, depending where you are to drive around to these competitions. So it turned into like a fully fledged commitment to that, and I couldn't have asked for better parents. Oh, they all they sacrificed all of their time and a lot of the money, and I will never be able to repay them. But one day I'm going to try. I feel the same way like I always think about again. I always for some reason, I compare things because I dated a hockey player for so long that I was compared. The lifestyles of like an athlete to a dancer is similar. I mean, dancers are also athletes, but like same thing like the families and the parents always seem to like, commit to what their child wants to do in that situation. And they all the traveling and the fees and the gear and the costumes and everything adds up. And they do it because their kid was happy. They love to do it, and it's like something that they're passionate about. That's my mom. She did research. I think this was like a few years ago. So it was after, you know, grown up all the things. And she calculated how many hours or like, how many? Oh, how long I spent training and the number was like, insane. I don't. I can't. It's not on the top of my head yet, but she did the calculation and it is crazy like our parents. I don't know. I know you guys feel the same, but I feel so incredibly blessed to have had the support from my parents. Yeah. Well, speaking of parents, my mom is definitely listening to this. And she also said to the question, but it's funny because my team picked out some questions to put on this document and it says, well, from Lester B thirty of like, that's my. Do they know that you all know what's her name? My mom's, Leslie, Leslie. And my mom was a professional dancer. Oh yeah. So she is very excited for this podcast, but she questions, OK, it's about a costume. OK. Have you ever had a costume use? You said you wouldn't wear like they put it on in your life. I won't wear this. I've never been that it because, you know, I'm a good sport with some stuff. I mean, were you in any of mothballs since? No, like as a troupe member, you're dressed as like he would dress people as seaweed. No. And like military with like like the toy toy soldiers. I never I never do, you know? Yeah, there was one dance where people with see, there was another dance where people was Bush's, and he was. I mean, his dance is a frickin cool. So creative. I love what they've got, what goes on in his head and the way he puts it down onto the dance floor. But he would always utilize the troupe, which are the dancers that don't have the celebrities on Dancing With the Stars. And so they would always be in these numbers to kind of fill them out and and make them sort of even more explosive, but they would be dressed as like shrubbery. I remember that one, specifically Edward Scissorhands. I never did that. I'm just not a fan. Like, I've got kind of a curvier figure and I'm not a fan of I'm not a fan of the color purple or lilac, and I'm not a fan of big, puffy dresses. So I do remember wearing a purple, puffy dress and sort of kind of keeping it in there. Oh yes, I know. Yeah, I don't think I have anything specifically, to be honest. I have to say I do not. I also agree with the puffy dresses. I'm not a puffy dress kind of girl, but Daniella, who is our costume woman on the empire, stars both Emma and I absolutely love her, and she knows I come in and I'm like, What do you want to put on me today? Yeah, you got to roll with the punches in that situation because like, you're not obviously not going to love every costume, but then there's ones where you're like, I am a bad b***h. Oh yeah, I have to tell you the best costumes. In my opinion on Dancing With the Stars is when we go into the is maybe like a salsa or a tribally type dance. And Daniela, our wardrobe and costume designer, our head of wardrobe, will put necklaces on the skirt and make her skirt. So it's basically like a boy shot, and she'll attach all this tribal like sometimes wood, sometimes like blue collar, sometimes like a brown color, like brassy necklaces on the skirt. And it looks sensational, and she'll do the same with the bra to look at a bra with earrings on it. So I think, you know, that reminds me of your samba with Rashod. It was like in mine. It was like Miami. Yeah. And she had it was more one of more your simple costumes, but it was really beautiful. And I think it was like it was like a chain skirt. And maybe it was necklaces. I don't know. There was a chain that one was like, like a silver silver necklace for my belt. Yeah, but she's great. That's why she really when she can be creative. Daniela, she really gets right. The tour costumes are dress next level. Incredible, like, oh yeah, it's just it's so cool. I have to say, because Michael A. from Bachelor World came to the show last night and he can't stop talking about it, and neither can his five year old son. And they were just he was like, I really didn't know what to expect, and he sent me. Another was just wanting to be like, help. Everybody is so proud of what they're doing. Like that was, he was like, that was just wildly entertaining and so impressive. He goes everything about it with from start to finish, like he was really impressed and even said something about the costumes like, really? Oh my gosh. Well, I think I mean, the girls pretty hot. But yeah, he was just so impressed by everything. OK, Brandi B wants to know. Dream partner if you can pick anyone starts off as a celebrity. Other show. I've dedicated many hours in extensive research to this, and my definitive answer is Andy Samberg. Oh God, yeah, I love him. Yeah. If, like, I'm sorry, but like, is it? Is it? You know what's that? You know, now we know no one. No, I have not watched that really, except for a few episodes, but I've watched enough of his movies. So no, I'm I'm a big fan of his hot rod hot rod. Also, Palm Springs on Hulu is, oh yes, my favorite film ever. Yes. And he has a little dance sequence in that. And it's funny we have a friend or a couple of friends that are in that sequence. And you pointed that out to me, Brad. No way. Yes. So I was watching the sequence and his personality. I'm I like, absolutely adore him, and I feel like he'd be like a really fun partner to have. Yeah, actually, you you might know his name is Dominic catalog. He's on the music department at Dancing With the Stars. You know, him got him yet. Him and his husband, Scott Hislop, they're there in the dance scene. Yes. And they are. Yes, it is so short, but it is such an amazing and comedic dance scene, and it's fantastic. Oh, I'm going to have to go watch it. The other day we turn on the TV and it was Mamma Mia ! And I was like, Well, I'm in this part. I'm in the dance is right there. Yes. You literally we flicked it on. You literally just missed me, and I was the one that was noticed. Oh my god, the boy is coming up the hill like me, my 18 year old me with pigtails. That's so funny. Who's your dream partner? Oh geez, I would have to say that I don't know anyone from High School Musical. Maybe because it's super nostalgic for me, and I think it would be really because you danced in high because I danced in the musical. And I know Courtney Blue was already on with Carina, and you need to dance with Zac Efron. I would love to dance with Zac. Yeah, that would. Yeah, I'll treat it with. That would be a massive treat for me. Yeah, yeah. Did you guys see his documentary on Netflix? Yes, it's amazing. So I think I mean another season as well, are they? This is off the line, grape therapy, Elana Morris, 84, says what has been the most rewarding part of your career thus far? I feel like I know Alana Morris how I really feel like I've seen her on Instagram. It's cute. Maybe, maybe not. I'm not sure, but I feel like I know her. What was the question? The most rewarding part of your career thus far? I mean, for me, I got to say it's cliché, but it is probably when I won Dancing With the Stars. I'm sure a lot of people feel like this. Or maybe they don't. But for me, I guess I had suppressed the feeling that I would never get there. And I always think of myself. I never think of myself as a leading role because growing up, I'm a twin. I was always a clown. Not not even. And this isn't for any kind of like reaction or anything, but definitely not even the most developed. She's beautiful that we're not identical. What do you call that in America? Maternal fraternal? So she was always the one that was like just everyone would be. She's so beautiful, and she is. And I was never really thought about that. But I was definitely more the comedic relief, the braces, the like, making jokes, letting people draw on that type of personality. So I never grew up thinking really that I was the lead in any kind of story. So when I came onto Dancing With the Stars, I was given a type of partner that was always a little bit more senior, a little bit more personality. They liked the fact that I was had more of a personality in terms of I was able to sort of maybe help the people that weren't great dancers sort of like, come out, do some funny stuff. And so I never thought that I was the serious competitor contender that could take someone all the way to win it just. And then when I won, I'm sorry, this is long with no luck when I know. I got mad at myself because it was literally the most fun, most fulfilling season. The easiest in many ways. I absolutely adored my partner, Rashad Jennings. And we're still really close to this day. But I was mad at myself because I really had believed that I was never going to win. And I told myself I was never going to see it that way again, and I wasn't going to box myself into a corner and brand myself as a, you know, second or third in place. I was going to take myself seriously so that for me, I love that and I like a long winded answer, because that's what podcasts are for. Thanks, listeners, if you're still alive. Yeah, that's like the like, you know, e t or E news. They always want the quick and the quicker, and I'm trained to do that. Yes. So but so this is great because podcast, you're like, Oh, I want to hear your story and I want to hear the long winded answer. Yes, I would have to say just being on Dancing With the Stars. Yeah, I and specifically becoming a pro on Dancing With the Stars. I think a lot of people on the show, it was maybe not humor, but it was a dream of theirs to be on the show, and I didn't realize it was a dream until I was here. And you know, I spent so many years behind the scenes as a backup theater or a dancer and, you know, the commercial or all of these things and which I'm so grateful for and so blessed. Yeah, that's already accomplished. Yeah. So, you know, this extensive dance career. But when I got to Dancing With the Stars, I was like, Oh my gosh, this is this is really beautiful. And for me, it kind of brings in all my worlds into one. It's dance and it's choreography. And at the end of the day, it's also human connection. Yeah, because you are really, you know, going on a journey with someone that is so vulnerable, so special and so unique to anything else that you can ever experience in life. I mean, you gain such a beautiful friendship with Johnny Weir. Oh my god, Susan, he's he's my bestie. And it's so funny because he doesn't easily connect with people. And we met each other and we were like, Oh my God, we love each other. Yeah, like, like what? Like, what's actually happening right now? And I'm also so grateful that that was my first experience as a pro on the show, too, because it really showed me the depths that this can go. And so just this I mean, this show really is a very unique experience that I don't like, and I speak about this all the time. When I had Cody Rigsby on, we were talking about it like that. People just don't really understand, like, it's such a feel-good show that they don't even realize the like depths of relationships that happened on the show or the ups and downs of partnerships. And like the connections or the, you know, highs and lows, it's like there's so much more to that show that people don't realize that that's why a podcast would be great or the shows, because then you could talk about those things and it would be good. I feel like to have the individual people like, like you said, look, Cody Rigsby to come on and people that have experienced the show. And to ask them about their specific partnerships. Exactly. Everybody's partnership is so unique, different. So when you get to the boardroom, you can see the dynamic of all. That's the fun couple. That's a couple that maybe doesn't get on as much. This is a couple, this one couple that has a little, you know, sparks and frustration. Yeah. And it's really interesting to see the vibe and the experience that other people have. Yeah. Yeah, that's a I was always I mean, my season was so funny because it was COVID, so we all couldn't connect the way that we can now on a tour bus. But like I would be, I would see Brit's relationship with Johnny, and I'd be like, Oh my God, just sort of hate me. Like, we don't hang out outside like I would never go for coffee with Artem and like we just didn't have. We were like such dance partners that we were like, so focused on only dance. We came in, we did our job and we worked hard at it, and then we went home and, you know, did our own thing. And then we came in and it was just work. Work, work. Yeah, which is again, I think part of the reason why we were able to win is like we didn't focus on anything else, but the dancing like that was our one goal. That's very awesome to. He got his gold. Like, He's like, what? We can achieve this today? Yes. And then and then after that, he can maybe have some fun and let his guards out, but like, Oh, it's like, No, no, yeah, just dance. Yeah. And it was interesting because I'm like, I didn't get to spend time with the other like partners. Yeah, relationships on the show, too like that. So I would see certain things. I'd be like, Oh, it's supposed to be this way or are we doing things? We're like, just awesome. Yeah, I love that. OK? M Burtis asks, What is something that you both have learned about me? Well, I'd do her. I'm not fishing, and this is a real question and you don't have to answer it like you just so nice. Like, Oh, I love that laugh. Oh, oh my gosh, what have we learned about you? Well, you're exactly the same way that and I hope that this is a compliment because while it is meant for as a compliment, so it is. You're exactly the same way that I watched you on TV five or six years ago, the I literally fell in love within the whole country world fell in love with. You're exactly that same way. Off camera, off screen. And I feel like that's the best compliment. Oh, well, it's meant it. Like, honestly, you're just such a freakin genuine person and so present. It's a real gift. Probably lots of well, I know that that you're very, very smart person and you have a lot of feelings. And I know you, you think and feel a lot, but you still able to remain very present and and really care about the people that around you and very observant. And that's like, that's something I'm really I really admire about you. That's really I really admire about you. And you're a fantastic host. Oh, thank you. Honestly, I have to concur. It's just like, you're just so authentically yourself and that you and unapologetically and that is inspiring. And I feel like, you know, Emma and I are quite the same as well. And so I think that's also why we connect and bond. And and then just to see you. You're you're a busker. You're Bosca. Oh, yes, you are a this weird asking questions about myself because I'm like, I swear you're not. I'm not like fishing here for, no, you're not fishing, but you should know that's the other thing. Enterprising. I love that word right now. It's my word of the month. But you are very enterprising because you will see potential and have ideas like Britt has her own ideas notebook, which I really love you. It's called the Book of Ideas. I like that, and I want to see it. Yeah, I'm like, Oh, showing you a book of ideas, but I feel like you're very similar in the sense that you have a lot of dreams and aspirations and you'll see potential in places and be like, Oh, that would be a great company, or that would be a great theme for a podcast. And that's such a that's such a great way to live is to see and be excited by things every day. So you're very enterprising and your boss woman and you really can handle lots of things, whether you know that I can handle a lot. So I do feel like that's why we all connect those. I feel like we are present people where I find that in the world that I'm in, I don't find a lot of people that are like able to be fully present and have, like authentic conversation. Yeah, when I podcast with them, I do, which is why I love it, because I'm like, Oh my gosh, you could sit here and have this great. And I always end up loving people more than I think I would. Yeah, from the Bachelor World. Yeah, I'll interview them and I'll have an idea. Then I'll actually tell them. I'm like, I forget, love them. I love all that when they're in the environment of other people and potentially may be just like, you know, the competition, and they're wrapped up in the staying up all night and looking glamorous in the dress and the TV's and cameras. I'm sure people get changed in some ways and they find it hard to be themselves. Yeah, for sure. And like I think a lot of people and I'm guilty of doing this to where you want to like be in the moment, but also it's a funny moment for social media. And yes, I think that's I think everyone here has such a good balance of that, we're like. Like last night recording Alan and Brandon Routh. Oh, yes. That would have been a missed opportunity if you didn't get that. I know. Well, that's the thing is I will never post that anywhere. But the sheer fact that it exists, that I have it is going to give me endless pleasure. And I see that the world a little like when you have eyes, you have to pose a little something. Oh, there is one. There was one section, there were like, we give you permission to personalize. It was only because you guys fly there like, Well, how can you know? Yeah, yeah, that's so funny. Aaron Maimer wants to know if you've ever had a really bad wardrobe malfunction, have you? Gosh, yeah, it wasn't on Dancing With the Stars, but I was on set for no strings attached. Yeah, the movie with Ashley. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was. This was like it was a couple of scenes in there and I was dancing in it and thank goodness it wasn't actually on camera, but I was in jeans and I was doing this like cheerleading scene next. And the director wanted to see it in rehearsal before we actually shot it. And I had to do this big toe touch and my pants split like all the way without. And and then he's like, Okay, again. And I was like my guts out and I had to do it. And you did it knowing that it's a good. But yeah, I think it's one of the best parts. Yeah. So there's that. That's so. But I had one the other day on tour. Oh, thank God. Yes. When did? Oh my gosh. Yeah, right after I came off stage from born this way, that's literally my straps snapped. Yet my titties were exposed. So she has a whole snake on right? And she walks offstage. She she goes, Look, yeah, and it's jumping to working men at the venue that fully saw my boobs because it snapped and the dress just dropped down. Oh no. Which is funny because that's usually we're supposed to have those nipple pasties, which is what we were talking about yesterday. Somebody had a Q&A for the tour. One of the VIPs said, like, what's something behind the scenes that we wouldn't know? And you were like, We have to wear nipple, pasty and cover ups, and there's a little tent designated to check that you have nipple covers before you go on live television to make sure that if something like that does happen, there's not a nip slip. And you know, what's funny is we used to stream live the Red Room, which is basically the backstage room. So you could see and we had to. So we had to have like a almost like a little meeting about it because it was like your do not show the produce your nipple in your bedroom record is just so used to show them like, here I have them on, make sure and double check. Where did she come around with like a clipboard with a checklist and such, and she would be looking at people. So that's so funny. Oh my gosh, I love that. I think people just love those little moments do have like hearing those things. Yeah, so funny. The I always have a struggle bus with reading people's names sometimes, but the vaults Vega naive. I don't think I actually I'm curious to know because I need advice, but how do you keep your energy up on tour? Because it's really like, you're not getting proper sleep, you're up and down and adrenaline up and then your energy's like all over the place. I'm already struggling with that, and I don't even dance a quarter of what you guys do. I mean, a lot. Yeah, we choose to drink Celsius refreshing drink. There's an advert for Cook, but Southeast is really good. Yesterday I was on one. I was like, I like music I've had, and I was like, What's wrong with me? And then Sophie was like, You had Celsius. I was like, Oh, that is what it is. Have you seen Sofia on Celsius? The best? She's brilliant, and she's got this really like dry sort of like like in the best possible way. Just like, phew, attitude. Totally the best. The yes. And when she has Celsius, it's like brilliant. I just could watch her all day. Yeah, it's so funny. I don't know about the energy for me. I think it's just I just thrive on. I still love performing. I know you're going to say the same. Yeah, yeah. Performing. I mean, also, you guys know me. I have like vitamins and crystal medications. And you're grounded. Yeah, but also I feel like it's it's performing. It's the adrenaline. And there's moments before the show where I'm like, Wow, I am exhausted and I don't know how, how I'm about to do this. And then halfway through the opening number, I'm here. Yeah, totally. Yeah, I know it feels great. It's the music. It's that like people looking at you with smiles and they're cheering and it's and it's so nice they came to see us. Yeah, and we still get to do what we get. We love to do, but people are actually noticing if people want to be. And it just feels amazing. Yeah, the crowd is amazing, and I always say this because I didn't get a crowd on Dancing With the Stars since the pandemic. So now being able to dance and perform and host and like, have this crowd of Dancing With the Stars fans where you guys have crazy fans like in a good way, like loyal, committed, energetic fans who love what you're doing. And it's just cool to be able to now witness that and see it would be like having a crowd makes a big difference. And you're right, it's the adrenaline where you're like, How am I going to do this and get out there? You're like, Oh, I could do this for hours. Yes, yes. So true. Kendra Hand, 33, wants to know, How do you practice self-compassion? Oh, it's hard. I think some days it's easier to love yourself than others. Yeah, I know at this point in my life, sometimes I look in the mirror and I think I would change that about myself. I would change that about myself and it's gotten worse, which it shouldn't really. I felt like I shouldn't really happen. You should get to a point where you kind of give less effort, but I'm giving more. And so sometimes it's harder than others. But on those days, I decide to do something a day that is just for me, whatever it feels like, I need you in that day, whether that's I love to take myself off and having a tea and journaling journaling really helps me having a conversation with a loved one like friends, family that really connects me, even listening to British music. Sounds crazy. No, you did yesterday, and you're like, You feel safe when you listen to like music that brings you back home. I thought that was really nice. And I just found that out yesterday. I was like, Oh man, this is who I am, and it's because I'm listening to music. That is was what I grew up on. And it just transported me back. Sometimes I need those grounding moments. And so it is hard to show myself self-compassion. But at the same time, you you have to find the ways to do it and really put in that time to to make yourself happy because it starts with you. And that's what I figured out. Yeah, I agree. I think literally giving yourself grace every single day. And I think that compassion also comes from, okay, today. I'm feeling like I really like I got a hold on self-love. And then other days, Oh, this is not the day, but also give yourself grace for that because every day is not going to be the same and we're not going to always be completely 100 percent, you know, peace with ourselves and at peace with the world. And so I think that helps a lot. And and like what Emma said, it's finding what's unique to you and what makes you what brings you joy. And then, you know, if I'm having those days where I'm looking at myself in the mirror, I'm like, Oh. You know, let me just like, oh yeah, I try to sometimes turn it into a positive, so if there's something like I'm, I hope I have a squinty I like, Wow, this guy is real squinty today of it. Oh, but it looks like my dad. And that reminds me of it. So I try to turn it into a positive and not change it, but just say, let me bring something that's positive about it. We love that you said I too have a squinty eye that I notice comes from my dad. We are so many. I have so little things like that's exact same thing. And I now think of my dad to go, Oh, I got it from him. That's so sweet. And that's I try to do that, too. I mean, I have been open about I really struggled. I think so many people do, obviously with like body dysmorphia. And I grew up at a dance studio where I was constantly comparing my body to other girls, and they were at different phases of developing the me and I was. It was always like, Why don't I have that? And why do this? And why do I not have that? And I had to do therapy to work on that and like, be more. And obviously, that comes with age too. But now I have to be very aware of that with being in a mirror with all of you ladies, because in my opinion, I'm like, Oh my God, their bodies are so perfect and I would do anything for that. And then I'm like, in the mirror again, and I like, go back to my childlike self, or I see myself in the mirror doing that, looking around and being like, Wow, I want that. And I'm like, Nope, and you've got to stop it in the moment. And like you said, turn it into a positive and I'm like, I get to be naked with these girls out dancing like you feel positive. And I'm just like, It's so and I. Part of that comes with age. A part of that comes with working on yourself. And part of that does come with, you know, giving yourself grace. Sometimes being like, Oh, it's just not there today. Like some days you I'm like, Hell, yeah, like thirty six and I eat whatever I want. I look fricking good. Yes, I know. I read it every day. I look at your body all the time, and I think that is a freaking chill of say, honestly, you're like, Oh yeah, it's so funny. And I feel that way. It's just so isn't it funny how we always, you know, compare and then obviously we could get it to a whole other our conversation about comparing on social media. But like, it's just more being aware of that. You're doing it and then appreciate like I used to look at girls body to get so jealous. Or now in my life, I look at girls bodies are like, What a beautiful body. All shapes, all sizes, all colors. I'm always like, That is a beautiful body, especially from having so many friends that have had babies that I'm just like. After freezing my eggs, I remember being like, Oh my God, you got to celebrate a body for what it can do instead of what it looks like. Because women's bodies are amazing, then yeah, it I. It's like, sometimes I think I'm high when I talk about a woman's body because I just go so deep it. I'm like, if can create like fingernails and fingers like a light yes, side of your heartbeat. Like, Wow, yeah, I literally are creators really cool. Powerful? Yeah. Now onto something a little less powerful. I'm just going to I'm literally just looking at the Dancing With the Stars cast, and I just want you to say one word when I say somebody's name. Okay, this is great. Like anything that comes to mind when I say Pasha. Oh, Buddha Buddha Buda. Sorry. She is a little dude. He is the most zen person you'll ever meet. Nothing will face that. Nothing fazes him. I see him doing balance exercises backstage. He'll just, like, have his eyes closed and be on one foot and like, have his arms out. And I'm like, Who is this? He's also really since he's so sensitive. Well, we were saying this. He's like on his one hundredth life. Like, Yeah. Yes, many lives. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Controlled like he seems to have just like control over his body, his health, his relationship, his emotions like in a good way. And it's great. Yeah, yeah, I feel that. OK, Sofia, oh, I want to say feisty, but not even more like I'm going to say I cat feline. Oh, yeah, good. Yeah, she's just like, she's a lioness. But yeah, but she's the lioness that's in the shade waiting for the, you know, she's like there, but she's just in the shade. Yeah, she's like, she's always ready to pounce, but she never does. She does. Yeah, she's she's one of my favorite people on tool. Me, me too. She's really surprised me like I just her. She should meet her. So she has a motto. And I mean, I've said this so many times common effort. That's her tomorrow. That's her motto, and I can't think of anything that is more spot on. She literally is like not going to care about stuff I'm not going to care about. And as a result, she doesn't carry the weight of the world and it is so refreshing. I watched her and I go, I've learnt the most from her. I want to be more like that. She's like a bullet, a duck in the sense that she will let things roll off her back. Yeah, yeah, it's admiring. I care too much sometimes. I know that sounds weird, but I care too much. I'll see how two percent. Yeah, and I like to give off like the no given vibes, and sometimes I really don't care. But other times I care too much and too much. Yeah. And we need to all be a little more like Sophia. Yes. OK, pretty good. Yes, this is pretty pure. He's pure. He's pure people. Don't you think that? I think I think people would be really surprised with that, which is funny because he does give off that like, you know, because he he knows he's beautiful. He gives you, you'll see, boy, and he's saucy, but he really like, I'll never forget Artem telling me a word that he would use to describe the globe, and it was harmless. Oh, oh, that's beautiful. Yeah, that's exactly right. He is so sensitive in a way that I remember a couple of days ago I was having a day like. And there's a number in the dust was stars tool that really brings out me because it was it's kind of like something that I wrote and I end up dancing slightly to these words, I wrote, and it's about being vulnerable. And I was having a day. So the waterworks are flying, and he sent me this message and I could cry just thinking about it. And it was basically along the lines of Emma, I hate seeing you cry. You are so. And then he went on a on a whole page. You are so successful, beautiful young. You have so much potential. You have so much and you inspire so many people. He went on, This whole, it was beautiful. He she really is a sweetie and he feels like no other. But he he it's not always seen by people know and they'll say things that surprise you and like, take your breath away. And it's so simple and I'll be so quick. But he says it in here, and you could tell he means it like he means he means. He's not just saying that to make you feel better, he means it. And I think what's cool too is I've only known Gleb for a very short period of time, but I just feel like he's at a place in his life to now, where he's, like, appreciated for his sensitive soul and trusted. And he can be more himself yes than ever. And he's appreciative to. Like, if you ever if you're ever going to give a compliment to someone and it's and it's going to be someone who means the most to in that moment, it's going to be, Yeah, yeah, I love that. OK, out loud. So I would like to say loud, is it really? It's a great word for him because it could be. It's it's also positive. Yeah. She, like everything he does, is just kind of on his sleeve. Yeah, yeah. And yes, and I admire that too, because I don't do that. I almost think about everything that I do before I do it. Sometimes it depends. But he's just has an ability to just be loud about everything. Yeah, yeah, that's good. That's good. Yeah. OK, Brandon, you got so many things to me now, Brandon. He is like, let, but in a completely different way. I think people that don't know Brandon would be very surprised about who he is, and this is not one word, but who he actually is like on the inside. You know, I would say transforming, I would say playful, but I would use playful to describe my dynamic with him. Like when we see when we see each other now, we know he, he always falls into a realm of play because because we take the piss out of each other. Yeah. And but transforming, I think he's in a period of his life where he's really developing into a different version of himself, and it's really a bit more compassionate. Yeah, he always describes himself. It's funny. He will tell you that he doesn't feel emotions as deep as others, and he can see and witness people feel it, and he can acknowledge that where he doesn't quite get that himself. But I actually think he's he because he's aware, Oh, I thought I would never know that he said that because I would disagree with that. He's right now. I'm I'm starting to disagree with him now because I can feel him dropping into a more emotional, much more aware state. Whereas before he he probably would have been described as quite non-emotional. Yeah, I really feel like I have a like big sister, little brother dynamic with him in every way, like I feel like he can, you know, he's protective. He's protecting the very heart that's worth protecting. I love that. It's protection and it's protection over his. Pop up. You have to get there. Yes. And that was for sure. OK, Sacha. Sasha, I would say this is funny, we might do the same thing with Brandon, but yeah, I know I feel like obviously I know Sasha aside out. Yeah, for me, I think it's I think it's unconditional love because he will give that to everybody until until if he doesn't respect you. Yeah, Sasha is the best person in the world because if he doesn't respect you, he can cut you off and you will not respect you. Yeah, but if until that point, he will unconditionally love you, he's loyal. His loyal, I think that's one of his great words is loyal, but he will be a complete champion for you and he will stand by you and he'll be just a complete love bug and make you laugh like he's he's the comedic relief he is. Sasha likes to push my buttons because it really. Yeah, yeah, it's funny. He has a book hidden. Yes, he's mischievous. That's another good word. Tobias is good. He likes to test how far he can go. And even with me, sometimes I'm like, You know, your audience like, you would push it, push it and push it. And I'm like, Wait, are you aware of what I need right now? Yeah, that's so true. That's funny. OK, Danny, Daniella. She's a silent thunder. She is a silent thunder, the think about Danny, is she like Sophia? She kind of has a carefree attitude. But when she really like pot, like her relationship with Potter, it's the most like she is so certain of. Of certain things in her life. And it's really I love it. It's fascinating and it's inspiring. I think it's determined. It's determined she's different. She to me, she's different on stage or on screen than she is off because she's before debts offstage. Yeah. She said. Well, because we were speaking of how we were saying how like hashes on his 100th life? Yeah. He was like, I'm on my first. She goes, I'm just sometimes like, Damn, I'm on my first life, which is so funny. But she does give her credit. She does say that, yeah, it's so funny. And it's yeah, she is. It's nothing to do with. I think she's very, very smart. But like, clumsy look, there's something about her personality that is like she'll laugh at herself because she's just done something totally silly. Yeah. And she does. She does that more often than not. It's really funny that I'll catch you in those situations and then she'll go on stage and she will literally take no prisoners, no mercy. Yeah. She is the most like crack the whip. Insane, incredible dancer. And then you come offstage and you go, Oh, see, yeah, I love that dichotomy that I think that's so fun that we get to witness that other are totally. Yeah, that's good. OK. Last but not least, are Oh, awesome. Oh, he's a he's deep waters. He is deep water. I like that. He really is because he's so sensitive. Yeah, he doesn't let too many people in. But when you get in there, then it's very special when you earn his kind of respect and attention because I feel like he's a lone wolf. Yeah, and he processes his feelings very. It seems to us like he processes his feelings very slowly because he's he's very reliable when he talks about like farming and DIY and any food and carpentry and his son, like mostly his son and his family. He lights up and it's like, Wow, I didn't know you had so many words. Awesome. Like, Yeah, cool. Oh my gosh. Because he's like a ball of knowledge and you're so smart is smart, and he has so many thoughts and feelings and opinions about everything. But you're right, it takes a lot of trust and respect to get in there. Yes. And it doesn't surprise me that at one point you would you would feel like, Oh, what is dynamic? Does he like me? Yeah, because you could probably think that when he's really thinking. We have to get this tango free, but you know what, the media is not thinking that is not that. Yeah, not so true. OK, that's amazing. Well, thank you so much for doing this with me. We should like sometimes we should do this every couple of weeks. Do like a little recap of what's going on? Oh yeah, we're we're at the tour, how we're all feeling. I would love that. Yeah, we'll sit down with us and be like, Guys, you never guess what happened this weekend. You're sporting a toffee and next up podcast. We should do it with wine. Yes, I think so. I think that's a big deal. And tell everybody where they can find you to follow you. And because you both post a lot about dancing with the stars, you're so good about like, pursue it like stuff you manifest in and you're like a deep and you're so. And I don't want you to ever discredit this about yourself because I know you do have a twin. It's like you're constantly being compared because it's a twins. Yes, but that's your comedic timing and your sense of humor, and your personality is like the most special thing I've ever witnessed. You and I love you. Like not just being your friend, but like following along on your social media and stuff too, because there's so much to you. Oh, thank you. That's a really big. That's the best compliment. Yes. I mean, you tell me you can find, Oh, I'm on Instagram at Brit Binay B.R.. It's been a year and same for TikTok. Yeah, we're really we're really working on here. So just for a few days ago, I kind of rekindled my love talk and I was like, Oh, TikTok rewarded me, gave me like, boom. His viral post. And I was like, Yeah. So you could see three a day on Tik Tok. And I thought, I remember, I think it might be Emma Slater official on Tik Tok, on my Instagram. It is the Emma Slater spelt like it says, Yeah, yeah, it's amazing. Thank you both so much. And let's do it again, stewardess. Kaitlyn, that's we go over the line with Oscar say. Same place, same time. But same place. Different time, same place. Different time. OK, love you. Both love you.
