Dr. Janine Austin Clayton, M.D., Associate Director for Research on Women's Health & Director of the Office of Research on Women's Health at the National Institutes of Health, joins Laila to discuss the current state of heart disease in relation to women and highlights the importance of factoring sex into every state of research, to ensure the female physiology isn't over looked. Dr. Clayton also explains why African American women suffer from higher rates of Heart Disease.
